The Water Jars are large, extremely attractive vases, accented with a rich multi layered glaze patina with a bull nose rim and four handles. In the HenFeathers collection of glazed pottery, it's all about the patina and the Water Jars are great examples. The Running Blue / Brown glaze on these pots is exquisite with mesmerizing depth.
There are two sizes of these incredible vases and they are available individually. Both are are of good size: the "Medium" is over 2 feet in height and the larger "Tall" version is a little over three feet in hight. The Medium version has a slightly wider profile than the Tall version. They are both perfect for poolside, verandas, patio corners and practically any indoor/outdoor garden setting. These vases are also used to define large spaces; use several to line a walkway or hall or large foyer. Display individually or together in a tiered arrangement to make a special statement.
Meticulously hand made and hand finished in high fired terra cotta. Only available in the beautiful Running Blue / Brown glaze as shown.
Our glazed and terra cotta pottery is high fired between 990 (terra cotta) and 1000 (glazed) degrees centigrade to ensure frost resistance and durability. Due to the processes used in the manufacturing of our hand-made and hand-glazed containers, all variations with respect to firing, color, size and crackling are natural occurrences in the manufacturing process. The glazes on our containers consist of natural, not chemical, components and therefore the final color of the product will vary. This process creates the unique beauty of each piece.
Note: While the high firing temperature and quality of our glazed and terra cotta containers results in a durable and frost-resistant product, we still recommend that they be stored in a frost-free covered area in winter. If left outside, water may accumulate in the container and freeze, causing the planter to crack and break. Planters that must be left outside should be covered to prevent water, snow and ice from accumulating inside the planter.
