Our Angkor Buddha heads are gorgeous reproduction examples of the glorious sculpture that adorns the incredible temple complex of Angkor Wat. Faithfully sculpted the Angkor Buddha heads here are crafted in high temperature glazed terracotta and are available in two sizes and two incredible glazes: Canary Glazed and Angkor Grey. The large versions are quite large standing almost 2 1/2 feet tall and weighing about 80 pounds. Both glazes are exquisite and it is a very hard choice. Use on a pedestal or stand, in the garden, by a fountain, or indoors anywhere a sense of history is needed.
As per Wikipedia: "Angkor Wat ("City/Capital of Temples") is a temple complex in Cambodia and is the largest religious monument in the world, on a site measuring 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 m2; 402 acres). Originally constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, it was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the 12th century as such it is also described as a "Hindu-Buddhist" temple." Angkor Wat was profusely decorated with sculpture and our Angkor Buddhas are characteristic of many of the temple sculptures depicting Buddha.
Meticulously hand made and hand finished in high fired terra cotta.
Note: While the high firing temperature and quality of our glazed and terra cotta containers results in a durable and frost-resistant product, we still recommend that they be stored in a frost-free covered area in winter. If left outside, water may accumulate in the container and freeze, causing the planter to crack and break. Planters that must be left outside should be covered to prevent water, snow and ice from accumulating inside the planter.
FREIGHT NOTE: In the case of extra large designs which exceed FedEx ground requirements and must ship by Freight Carrier, there is an additional Freight/Truck charge based upon your zip code location that will be charged at the time of shipment. Please call with questions 610 649 4078.
